Is it safe to fire a 45 AR in a 45 colt?

The case diameter of the 45 AR is .473 where the case diameter of the 45 colt is .480

never tried it, but folks have mentioned the differences in Rim thickness between the 45 colt and 45AR. The cylinder would likely bind up with the extra head thickness on the 45 AR. I know in my SRH 454 it would definitely would bind.

Rim is too thick it will not work.
I believe 45 Scofield Will though

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

There's also the "45 Cowboy Special" that is basically like a rimmed ACP..but just a real short .45 Colt

Thanks for all the info guys.

45 BBH this is something I can use. I'm looking for something I can load up for small game that I can shoot in my Ruger 45 long colt. The shorter brass will make it easy to identify light loads from my regular 45 colt hunting loads
