Nice. Is your 450 a 450 Marlin? I have always though that 450 Marlin was a much underrated cartridge that deserved much wider popularity. I noticed one of our local retailers recently had new 450 Marlin Hornady brass , which was interesting because Hornady had previously indicated they were discontinuing production. Hopefully they are still going to make the occasional batch, much like they do for some of the big bore classic cartridges.

I had a .450 Marlin Encore. Sold it to Ed Folmer. He took it to Africa & killed an elephant with it. I shot lots of groundhogs & several deer with it. A good medium range round.

I don't doubt the elephant a bit. It is a very versitile cartridge. I worked with several bullets in the .450 that would work for elephant. The new 1200-R powder has opened new doors for the .450 handguns.
