ain't got no good shootin report. ain't got no reloadin to talk about. ain't got nothing exciting to bring up.
i been sick fer two weeks now(this time!) bronchitis, sinus infection, sore throat. been puny dang near all winter! i'm gonna blame it on a flu shot i took back in november, even though they are not supposed to cause anything.
i think i bout got it whooped though. mayube another day or two, hopefully. payin my dues i reckon, since i never get sick, an if i do i'm over it in 2 days max. even had to take a couple days off work since the new year came in. something i rarely ever do(miss work for any reason)

not that anyone wanted to hear me whinning around, but just wanted to chit chat some.
i did get me a new scope a 2.5x x8 leupold ler used(slightly)in 99% condition. great deal on it, i thought. doubt if i'd ever spent the $400 for a brand new one. i've already mounted it on my 15" 7-08. now that leaves me with an extra scope (3x12 burris).
now, i'm gonna have to come up with a barrel to set under that 3x12 burris lot's of stuff running thru my head, but i'm thinkin maybe a custom 14-15" stainless 6x47 contender barrel. don't NEED another 6mm, since i have a 6tcu, and 6br. but, i do have dies already, and i like shootin 6mm's for fun target work. anybody wanna talk me into it, or out of it?
my other option was a 17" 300mag encore barrel to shoot as a handgun(of course). i'd love to have one like that for long range targets or possibly elk hunting. then again my 15" 7-08 would take an elk also. any votes for, or against this one?
which one would youins prefer

KYODE, Ain't nothing wrong with the 6mm. Have a 243 and a 6mm BR. Having OTT make me up a 6mm TCU for the Contender. If you feel you have too many 6mms maybe try a 25 or another 22. Can't go wrong with them. Course, if you wanna get rid of that Burris let me know.

Hey Bud! Hope you pull through it soon...we need our cheerleader back! As for that additional barrel you are needing...I think the .300WM would be a waste of powder and the 6x47 would be no good since you have the BR and T/CU. Ssooo I guess you can just send that Burris to MMMmeeeeee!!! That would make my count of 3-12's an even half dozen!

Get well, Bud.

hehe, ain't lettin the 3x12 burris go. sorry fellers
Dan, you're probably right on both accounts, but.........hmmmm sounds like you might be tryin to talk me outa gettin any barrel........ so you could get hold of that scope. hehe, 3x12 burris, NOT FOR SALE

you do have me thinkin though if not a 6x47, what would be a dandy shooter, low in recoil, but yet very powerful, and could serve many useful purposes from varmint to deer size game? 250 savage maybe.......or any other thoughts....... hmmmm....think, think, think?..........it's gonna be hard to talk me out of another 6mm though.

KYODE, You know the 260 Rem Is kind of a neat cartridge. The recoil is mild, so that might be nice. A 25 Souper(25x308) might be something to horse around with. Just some thoughts for you. I personally at this point in the game look at the smaller calibers. Have enough of the "big boomers".

Dan G- You scoundrel I tried to get the scope first.

A 6mm bullberry is a great round. Got rid of my other 6's after shooting mine. Getting a Van Horn 6tcu rechambered to it and will have two pistol and one carbine in it.

Here's a neat cartridge you could be the first on your block to own. 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. I've been thinkin a while on this one. I like the heavy for caliber bullets and it's potential for acurracy. I think just as soon as I get my daughter's teeth work paid for and buy that bed the kids have been wanting I'll order me a 14"er from Van Horn. I've been wanthing to give his barrels a try and also the Swede. Ok KOYDE, you can order the barrel, work up nice deer hunting loads and pass them on to me, secure in the fact that you are the first kid on your block to have this unique toy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you feel better man, I don't write much, but I like reading what you write.

6.5x55 Swede.....and that's all I nede.

KYODE,Get well soon. I have been on disability with a bad back since early Jan,so I know how you feel.

I have been sitting at home driving my wife and kids nuts. The only thing that has kept me sane,is that I have been able to get to the range a few times to punch some paper, witch helped alot. Hang in there

Jeff
