Just checking in on all you guys. Seems like same-ole-same-ole. Took me a while to catch-up on reading all the posts.

Now for my story: On a Thursday, 3 weeks ago, I broke my right ankle at work. I had surgery the following Monday morning. Though all is going well, I have pretty much been flat on my back for much of the last three weeks. It took 7 screws and a plate to put the bones back right. I've never had this kind of surgery before and apperently I've been a big baby. This thing still hurts and I still can't be up and around on my crutches for any length of time. My computer was out of the question until today. I couldn't set-up and keep my leg at enough of an incline to do anything on the internet. Trust me, the internet withdrawal has been most difficult. You wouldn't of understood anything anyway, the medicine I was taking had me totally whacked out of my head. My wife was treated to three weeks of a comedy routine, apparently I was saying some pretty crazy things.

So now I've weened off the pain-pills and my head has cleared and my ankle doesn't throb so bad that I can catch-up on my internet buddies.

Hope you all have been doing well and shooting well too.

Sorry to hear fo your trobles. That sucks.
Like you said, same ole same ole.
We are all spending money left and right it seems.
I am not any different. LOL

I dont know what is more addicting.
Shooting the guns you buy or buying more. LOL
Get well soon.
Or at least well enough to shoot some....

Thanks,
Shawn

glad yer healin....n keep it up.

got my 300 win mag peestol shootin finally. H1000 with 180gr sierra pro hunter gave it a complete turn around in accuracy. H4831 n IMR4350 would simply not do it, or at least with any kind of velocity. either that or it has a preference for flat base bullets. i may know more on that later.
H1000 being such a slow powder surprised me in this short barrel only thing i gotta burn around 80grs a pop
now i gotta do some chronographing and also see if 165's n H1000 produce anything acceptable.

she is also really cleaning up quickly now. so far..i highly recommend a 50-50 mix of shooters choice n kroil used along with remington bore cleaner(similar to jb's, only more liquified). much less patching to get em coming out clean now

got the remington "bore cleaner"(not rem clean) idea from a buddy sillywet shooter that shoots a LOT. walmart has it in a lil plastic bottle with an internal shaker similar to a spray paint can.

Kentucky….no place like home.

KYODE, I've tried H1000 in my 300WM with good results. I don't have a chrono, but it shoots Hornday 165 spire point really well. The H1000 does seem to have more muzzle blast than the H4381 that I've also tired. I guess I'm not terribly worried about top velocity or I'd buy a chrono. I know the velocity has gotta be pretty good and I just work on accuracy.

I sure do miss shooting. It has been about 8 weeks since I've shot anything.

I've been on a self-imposed spending freeze since the first of the year. Until I see what my taxes are going to be, I'm not buying anything. I'm scared, my taxes are going to kill me. I earned more money last year and didn't pay as much tax, no refund coming to this house.

Glad to hear you are on the mend. Well in the last 3 weeks I have been to Cross South Carolina, Rockford Illinois, Scarborough Maine, and a few other stops along the way. Have not done too much shooting and no new projects in the works.
