I have always been able to throw a baseball, football with both hands.Bowhunting I started shooting long bow and found out I was left eye dominate.I started shooting my handguns left handed. Things did not work as well as with the bow.Everything goes to the right.Shooting today I have found that I shoot the best shooting right handed but sighting through my left eye with both eyes open.Anybody else experience anything like this.
Thanks Mike

I usually shoot with both eyes open! If you want the acid test, Shine up your guns and bows and dress them up in Black leather slings and spank them. That will tell you about dominating!

I love my 500! 440LSWCGC and H110 zips out at 1700fps-the 350 Hornady zips out at 1790fps. This is serious stuff to the inner workings of a whitetail chest cavity. Accuracy for is incredible for me. It is the only revolver I own that will do a 3-4" 100 yard group all the time. It has even done better on perfect days. Unfortunately I did not pull the trigger on a Cow Elk this past year, 2007 is right around the bend! Do a search on the website and you can see pics of mine. I have it Black moly and stainless and as it turns out, it has proven to be very durable. I also have a Black leather sling for it!

I keep swapping between the 2x and 4x Silver Leupold. I've had black ones on it too. I know the 2x is low powered but it's always been enough for a rainbow cartridge. The 2x is my favorite and I own many. I've only ever had one fail and it was replaced new by leupold, and I pusrchased it used!I have a 2x Leupold on my 416 Rigby and it has lasted about 400 rounds so far with problems. The recoil is fierce! My Pa deer is limited to a 50-60 yard hsot, and I hunted the timber in Co so my shots were limited to the same or a litle more. I only use variables on my TC and other single shots as they are set up mostly for long range deer and chucks and such.

I had a similar problem caused by some surgical eye problems. I had always shot everything right handed and right eyed untill after surgery. Now I am left eye dominant but still shoot right handed. Handguns are no problem as I just keep both eyes open and the left eye takes over. Long guns that are scoped I can use right eye but keep both eyes open. Shotgun is my biggest problem. With both eyes open I wind up cross shooting and missing everything if both eyes are open. To shoot skeet or hunt with a scattergun I blur the left side of my shooting glasses with a little vasoline. This forces my right into dominance so it can track the flying targets when I shoot right handed. Its been a bit of a process learning how to adapt but shooting is just to big a part of my life to let a little eye problem keep me from my hpbbie. Besides I got to do a lot of shooting to figure out what works!

I've been right handed, left eye dominant all my life. That may be why I prefer handguns. I turn my head slightly away so that my nose blocks the target from my right eye. I shoot so much better sense I discovered that.
