I have a 10" SSK barrel with 1-8 twist that shoots great. I currently have a 2.5x8 Weaver on it . I've shot the 125 gr Sierra Pro-Hunter, 240 gr Match King, different types of Nosler bullets, bulk packed bullets and they all shot great.

I haven't shot any animal with any of these bullets. I hope to go hog hunting later this year. If it works out I want to try the 125gr Nosler Partition or Accubond.

The 300 Whisper is a sweet little round, I've had a 14" factory Contender barrel and a centergrip XP-100 in the chambering for awhile.

Knowing the accuracy potential of the round plus the fact that I've been wanting at least one accurate and milder recoiling cartridge in the Encore I just got in a blue 15" Fox Ridge 300 Whisper bull (.995 dia.) barrel and forend last week that I've yet to fire.

So far I've only used the Contender and XP for silhouette matches, target shooting and plinking but the round is certainly more than capable of handling deer sized game with the proper bullet and load.

My current target load of 18.5grs of AA1680 under a Sierra 168gr HPBT Match with a Remington 7 1/2 BR primer is unbelieveably accurate in both the Contender and XP.

All three of the above are 1 in 10 twists.
