17 5/8" 6x47 contender barrel from OTT came today the man does awesome lookin work! the black oxide coating is very very sharp imo.....n i DO intend to brag



lol....this is posted on 3 different forums so far .......hehe, it's hard to handle the excitement n ya gotta vent somehow plus....ya jis gotta make sure EVERYONE can see the beauty

i'll be using 204 ruger brass ran into a set of rcbs 6x47 dies. normally of course ya neck up a standard 222 magnum. also have a 3x12 AO/TT fine plex sittin here ready to set up a long barreled handgun.

the twist should be 10"....but i don't have a definate measurement. this one is made from the muzzle end of a .243 rem 700 varmint special rifle barrel.

GB's....lol....probably will jis have to keep dreamin of barrels. been a long time since i posted anything over there controversial lil place with too many rules over yonder

that is a nice looking barrel! the black oxide finish.....the flutes....wow! when you gonna shoot that thing? i'm assumin you've had handloads waitin on it. watch out kentucky varmints

nice kyle, very nice. I still have that federal 6x47 brass. I also have a 222 mag FL bushing die that would work all you would have to do is use a larger bushing for the 6x47

not sure when i'll getta shoot it. still got some loadin to get done for a specialty pistols sillywet shoot down in ky. first week o may. do have 200 204 rugers ready to start on when i get a chance though.

lotta spring stuff goin on now too grass mowin, fertilize spreadin, fence buildin, lil fishin .....busy busy busy

don't have the first piece of brass necked up or loaded for it yet. had to wait on the barrel to get correct die settings for minimum headspace.

also...interesting note. this barrel was cryogenically treated. froze the socks off'n it way down bellow zero(300-400degrees below i think) to supposedly relieve stresses...n all that stuff

finally got a pic of it all together. absolutely in love with it......n not sure i can stand all the excitement of shooting it yet i could hold it n look at it forever.....lol

You might as well sell it to me cuz you aint never gonna shoot it! It sure is nice looking rig! I like the 2-tone too! I do that alot. I like to try and something a little different but it's hard withought spending a paycheck every week!
