I took the 357 Max out for some plinking last weekend and really enjoyed it. It is an 18" VV full bull that I have set up now as a carbine (oops, it has a butstock on it ),with a Leupold European 30 1.25x4 scope. This thing is a real shooter.

The problem is, I wanted to use up some AA2230 powder and got some middling loads using 180gr Cast Performance bullets and Speer 170gr flat tip. Now I'm thinking, the way this thing shoots, it should come with me to the deer woods this fall.

I bought a box of Hornady 180 SS pistol bullets and a box of 180 gr XTPs. I have some H110 that I use in my 44mag. I'm looking for a burner with acurracy.

Anybody have a pet load for one of the bullets I bought? I can buy some different powder. What works the best for a 357 Max?

I know about handloads, I'll be careful, I promise. Just give me a good powder and a place to start.

Also, what primer works well in the Max.......loaded to the max?

6.5x55 Swede.....and that's all I nede.
