Guys, I've bought a .357 Rem Max barrel for my Contender.

Question: Can I reload for the Rem Max with regular old .357 dies? I notice some RCBS dies are specifically labeled for the Rem Max, but others aren't

Thanks.

I use the RCBS max dies with no problems. I think Lee says you can use their mag dies for max with no problems. I don't know if length is an issue for any others. I just bought and use the RCBS dies without regret.

Encore, is it simply that the last 1/8 or so of the 357 Max cartridge case doesn't completely enter the 357 Mag resizing die?

That's the only possible difference I can think there'd be between dies specifically for the Max vs the regular 357 Mag. The case is the same diameter so other than length what else could be different?

357 mag dies will work for the max. I have use Lee and Lyman for the max. The only thing that you would have to watch is when the case goes all the way in the resizing die it does not bottom out or roll the top edge in. Most mag dies are deep enough for the max. I have not had that problem with the 2 sets I've used.
