Anyone know anything about this particular model? I can get one used, like new, for $461... Although I have a Vaquero and a SBHH in .45Colt which is big enough for anything I will probably tackle, I am really tempted...
What do you think???

Jim

The price seems good. On Gunbroker they are about $800.00 new.

I got a real good deal on a new BFR .475 Linebaugh a few months ago, I paid $599 for mine. So far I have only used 400g Speer Gold Dots, I love it! . I have been getting 1400fps with the 400 grain bullets. I have some heavy duty handguns and this one is right up there in the recoil department. I have a 2.5-8X Leupold on it. I REALLY do like this rig! It is my first single action handgun. I'd say pick it up, I think you would like it.

I've owned the bfr in a 45-70 and it was an exceptional gun and I still own 2 custom 475 rugers. The cartridge is hard to beat, especially if you want to use 480 loads for plinking or deer and black bear. I personally favor the 425gr wlngc CP and the 400gr xtp, I load them hot and they are both very accurate guns and loads, although alot of luck was involved I took a coyote at 115yds with my 4 5/8 and the xtps'. I don't think you would go wrong with gun, cartridge or price.

Like new for $461. That's a good price. Retail is around $800 to $900. The are a strong well built gun. I have shot the BFR in 500 S&W. The only thing I didn't like about it was the factory grips.
