So when do we decide that we have enough of them? I have been on a buying spree and have a lot of load developmnet to do. My wife keeps asking me which and when is my last one and I always reply 'The one afer the next one'. Fortunately for me, there never is just 'one' after the next one; there's always a few! You should see my wanted list! So what's next on your list? Mine is going to be slow-twist .22 or 6.5 caliber Encore barrel!

Seriously, I'm thinking something in quarter bore. I don't have a 25 cal yet.

I am curious about the .45/410 encore bbl for its shot shell capabilities...
Seems like a fun small game bbl...

Thanks,
Shawn

either a custom single action 500 linebaugh long (max) or a FA 500WE, possibly a custom ruger in 500 linebaugh short.

I have been asked that same question. My comment: "A man that is busy looking for another gun doesn't have time to look for another wife". Works every time.

Oh you will. I just picked up a 2nd 416 Rigby! Ouch. Now I have a long one and a longer one! I guess I should put down my Capstick books and start reading more of JD Jones on HHI Hunts I'm a bonafide handgun hunter, but I love to target shoot and plink with the long ones too. I guess you can call a 400gr slug at 2500fps plinking? I get 2350fps with my 350 Barnes TSX from 16" Encore with a real big Mbrake, with more than enough power to stop an Iraqi tank. Oh that's right, Irag doesn't have anymore tanks left!

Plinking Definition: An enjoyable afternoon with the kids at the range with an assortment of .22 LR's, maybe something a "little" bigger.

Plinking Definition (NOT): A 416 shooting 400 gr bricks at 2550 fps.

Signed, The recoil whinney.

NOW HOLD ON A MINUTE-PLINKING IS IN THE HANDS OF THE BEHOLDER or something like that, I remember a very nice day spent shooting ground squirrels with my 300 wby and 45-70bfr and shooting anything with my 458Lott is exciting. I'm with Gerry, the bigger the better By the way Gerry that 44 I sold you has a couple of them dirty little squirrels under it's belt.

WapRod, add them to my list of two garden grabbing cotton tails, and 1 woodpile-hidin chuck!

I treat it like all my others! No killee foodee; no stayee in safe! I took the stags off and put them on my 45LC Vaqueero, and put the bigger Pachmeyers on the 44. I now have an awesome pair of short Rugers as side-packers. Whether it be a heavy 45 or 44, the game don't care. A big hole is a big hole, and dead is dead.

Ahhhhhh, Master Sawfish, how sage is your wisdom. You won't mind if I borrow that one to use on my wife will you?

Thanks in advance, Keyman (non sibi sed patreai)

I'm wanting more and more a SBH Hunter in .41 Mag. It's a "distributor exclusive" limited edition and my FFL doesn't deal with Davidson's, why I don't know. As far as I can tell they are the only folks who can supply them. Any know of another?

Then the .480 Alaskan will be next, after a .260 Rem and .338 Fed tubes for the Competitor, and 22-250. Would like a .22 cal 10" for the 'Tender, either Bee or Hornet, and a .17 rimfire.

I gotta long list...........!

Rod, too.

I have a barrel already made up in my mind. I just have to get the funds to have SSK make it. It will be a 16 1/4" bull barrel with muzzle brake in 50 Alaskan. It will wear a carbine forend. They are a blast to shoot with 750 gr tracers @ 1100 fps. Load it with a tuff 50 caliber hunting bullet and you can take on anything. JD says you can load it up until you can't handle it. Tuesday night we're going to shoot JD's at 600 yards with tracers. Can't wait.
