Hey Dan, how about some specifics on the camel hunt you did in New Mexico or Nevada with the 375JDJ! Or was it an Ibex?

It was an Oryx!!!

It's an honest mistake Oryx are easily confused with camels that is until you realise they have horns and different colouring.

OK, we got that narrowed down.... Now was it NM or Nevada? Details & PICS!!!

I knew it was some big behemoth with 4 legs and horns; I wasn't sure about extra humps though! We like stories and pics of big animals taken with big handguns; Don't skimp on the story please! We want loads, range, impact and death growl.

Thanks for the interest. Either you're still busting my chops or you missed my post (can't tell without a facial expression). Back on 1/18/2006 (page 15 of the posts) Dan B posted my picture. The hunt was a depredation hunt. I got a 29" young bull with my 375 JDJ. Shot was 223 yards, one shot DRT. 270 gr SP in front of 48 grs of H4895 (1980 fps). Exit was the same as entrance, no expansion. I shot over my ruck for a rest. I had velcro'd my benchrest front bag to the back of my ruck. Once I went prone, it was just like shooting off the bench. It worked pretty slick. This year for Christmas I only want a 350 class 6x6 (or larger). Draw results are due out mid June. If no bull, a land owner cow tag will have to due.

Thanks for that. I did remember getting a PM, but not the pics. I did a search and it looks pretty cool. Where's the hump! No expansion but did get complete pass-thru at 223 yards is still pretty impressive.
