I have been keeping this from you. I didn't want to post until I had some results from some range time. It is a keeper.
Remington XP100, 222 Rem Mag, Shilen Custom barrel, 14",
1-12 Twist, nice walnut stock, Burris 3x12 B Plex w/bipod.
Not sure of the trigger yet, think it's a factory.
Loads were: IMR 4895, 25.5 grns, Hornady 50grn VMax, Hornady 55grn SP, and Barnes 50grn JHP Varminator.
The Hornady 55grn SP's shot great at 100 but opened group at 150 & 200yds. The VMax and the Barnes shinned from 150 to 200yds. I got one group with the Barnes at 150yds that I could cover 5 shots with a postage stamp. 200 yds the VMax was in a 1.5" circle I drew.
The trigger is not the best and I need to figure out how to adjust it.
I think I can do a lot better from sand bags. All of these groups were off the bipod.
Thanks to Dennis Madriaga in Alaska for the pistol. It will be put to good use.

VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!! I believe the trigger on xp is the same as the 700, if it is I used a set of instructions I got from quarterbore.com , look at the bottom of the home page and you will see the link for 700 triggers. the trigger on my 700LSS 300 RUM came out very nice.

You can do a lot with a 222 @ LR.

Hawkeye, that's an awesome looking piece! Alot women here in the East use that caliber; DanB included! Just kidding about the gun (Not Dan). The groups are really great. I think you have a beauty for a 200-250 yard gun. I really like the stock alot better than them ugly 'yeller' ones.

Nice. I remember seriously contemplating buying that gun when it was up for sale...but did not want another .22 caliber SP handgun. The .222 Rem Mag is a very capable LR caliber...just have to be VERY aware of any wind conditions. I've been wanting to try 60gr V-Max's from my .222 RMI...but sold Tigger the stock in April and not seen my new HS arrive yet!

Two of my XP's are .22's......the "yeller" .222 that Gerry is jealous of and the other is a .222 Rem Mag Imp. The RMI will get 52gr A-Max's to 3200fps w/ Varget. On super calm days is has shot a bunch of 300yd groups under 1.5" and 500yd groups under 3".
