tuesday i am going to help a friend sight in his savage stiker .the problem iam having is this ,if i wear my elbow pad and padded shooting glove will i have a nuff protection to shoot this striker? by the way the striker is chambered in 416 TALYOR ...lord help me!!!!!!!

Deadeye, Gary Smith the Moderator is the 416 Taylor guru. He shoots his in Africa, but I know he has a big fish-gill type brake on it. My 416 Rigby uses a brake designed by Holland Arms. Any handgun that can propel a big 350-400gr slug at 2400fps needs a brake; I know I need one for extended periods of shooting. They are fun to shoot though! I don't use a glove, but do use a pad under my elbow.

Put a brake on it, either SSK or OTT nd it will help alot

I have the Holland Quick Discharge and just love it for my 7mm Dakota XP using 200 grainers @ 2700 fps.
Turns it into a puff-cake recoil wise.

I have Darrel Holland's muzzle brakes on 3 of my large caliber handguns. The brakes are effective,reasonably priced, and the workmanship is first rate. They are also good folks to deal with. A real plus with Holland's brakes is the solid bottom, which eliminates dust storms, debris showers, and rips in sand bags and shooting rests caused by bottom discharging brakes. You can get the brakes from Brownells, and have your gunsmith install them.

well i think i survived shot the 416 TWICE that was it!!!! this thing has no brake ,my elbow should heal before this fall
