He got a bargin. They are as good as a stubby comes. Had one and let a friend talk me out of it and was sorry. In my area you would be lucky to find one under $250 if you could find one.

Call the police, your brother done went and robbed someone! I have a holster worn Det Spl and I'd either laugh or punch ya in the nose over a $150 offer.

from a sales site:
Colt Cobra, Mfr 1954
.38 Spl, 2-inch barrel, early "long grip" frame
only $449.95

Gunbrokers search for colt cobra.

Thanks guys. After I posted this I did some looking and found them for around $400 on some auction sites. It's a 1st Gen model with a serial number of 164XX. From what I gather this is a very early model since one that I saw advertised was a 887XX and the owner claimed it was made in 1959. Since they started making them in 1951 I'd guess it's a 1952 or so. Beside on of my RBH's it looks like a toy...definately not +P stuff for it!

He bought it from a friend that tried selling it at the gunshow on Saturday with no luck at $250. Dusty was going to offer $200 but the fella asked him for $150 just to get rid of it! Dusty also got three extra grips with it. This is the same guy I bought my RBH .41 Mag for $150.

Which 3? Herrett? Pachy? What? That's prolly close to $100 in grips.

It wears the originals, then there is a set of Pach's. The other two are ones that Jeff (the seller) made for it. He's a tinker and likes making grips. When I bought the RBH from him there were also a couple sets of grips.

Dan, don't be surprized if you get a call from the local PD!! After reading this I decided that there was a theft involved. I'd also have your friend get a referral for a medical check-up. He has a chronic problem and doesn't know it!! That is such a great deal you got there!! I'm jealous!
