BOWHUNTER EDUCATION COURSE




Promoting Responsible Bowhunting Through Education


This Bow Hunter Education course sponsored by the Maryland Natural Resource Police is a specific course pertaining to bow hunting only and is separate from the mandatory Hunter Safety Education course required to obtain a hunting license.

The Maryland Bowhunter Education course is 10 hours long and meets the requirements of the National Bowhunter Education Foundation and the certificate issued at the successful completion of the course will allow the individual to hunt in states and provinces or in special designated bowhunting areas such as some federal lands or urban bowhunting areas that require bowhunter education certification.

Students 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Students must attend all three classes of a course and successfully complete a written exam.

*It is recommended persons taking this class have experience with hunting or have taken a hunter education class.
