A friend is wanting to take his 45 acp as a back up gun for black bear this year. I told him it would be usless until the bear had him down then he could stick it in the bears ear then shoot.What are your opinions on the 45 acp for this?

...only in that the .45ACP can be throw faster (not in terms of velocity) but in succession!

using the 45acp for a backup for bear is PERFECT when the bear gets him down he can shoot himself and not have to suffer a mauling...
