I was driving home from work yesterday evening and saw a new sign for Tri County Gun Club. I had seen them putting the berms in for the range last year, but never saw anyone out there. Yesterday there was 3 people there shooting so I turned around to check it out.
The range is open to the public and the fees are $15 per day or $40 per month. They have 25, 50 and 100 yard ranges. It's not big, but it is convenient since I drive past it every day. It is actually 200 yards out side of the Montgomery City Limits. I think the fees are high, but it is convenient. I'll be stopping on my way home a couple of times to just shoot.
I have been a member of another gun club for 20 years (www.centralalabamagunclub.org) and only pay $120.00 per year. That range is about 30 miles from work and 40 miles from my house. I have a key to the gate and can go any time from daylight till dark.
I was wondering what other club dues are around the country.

The club I belong to in Norman, OK is Tri City Gun club. The dues are $110.00 and if you will be a working member and do at least 8 hours work per year the dues are reduced to $75.00 per year. We have a 200 meter long range, covered, and 75 yd short range with cover and baffles for 10 yd draw and fire and plinking. We have shotgun and archery also. It is about 15 min from my house.

There is a public game lands range about 10 minutes to the south of me...25 and 100yds.
My club range is 10 minutes to the east...25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 275, 300, 400 and 500yds backers w/ gongs at most distances except the three shortest. Covered benches and pavilion. I have a gate key and can shoot from daylight till dark on any day of the week. MOST of the time the range is all to myself...ask anyone that has attended the SWPA Handgun Shoot...we are always the only ones in attendance! Cost...they just raised it to a steep $10 (yes, ten dollars) per year.

I thought we had it pretty good here .... until I read Dan's post. Our local range here is a 10 minute drive from the house & we get a gate key & can shoot from daylight to dark (they prefer nothing after 10pm or before 6am in the summer for the sake of neighbors). Skeet & trap ranges, 6 handgun ranges for IPSC etc, with one covered with a 50 yd range max. Covered rifle range with stands to 500 yds. Everything past 300 yds is in poor repair (compared to when they used to shoot sillywet here) but functional. $60.00 yr.

My range is 9 miles away. We have targets from 30 to 150 yards. Enclosed bench. We can shoot 24-7 as there is no noise ordinance and the range is lighted. No annual fee, but we put a lot of work in each year to keep it up.

i know this will get someone to say "oh S#@t! I live in northwest Illinois and we dont have a range to speak of... sure there are the private Trap and Skeet ranges, which a member pays $400-500 A year or you can go into Wisconsin like I do! There are 2 ranges 1 3/4 hours north of me that are nice. One is a "club" type range with nice facilities (www.bristolranges.com) and if you are a member, its $75 per year plus $5 a visit, or its $20 per visit for non-members. I also found a new (new to me) range supported by the DNR. (http://www.mcmillersportscenter.com). I have only been there once, but I will be going back! Great people and it is only $14 a day! And they let me shoiot at the 300 yard range with my .375JDJ!! I wish that there was a place closer, but NOOOOOOOOO!

I feel lucky now after seeing what some clubs are charging. Mine is $100 per year. You can work at the range or attend meetings to lower fees.
Shooting hours are from a half an hour before sunrise to a half an hour after sunset. We have two 100 yard bays which have 25, 50 and 75 yard target stands and six 50 yard bays.

My Club: COSSA (Central Oregon Shooting Sports Association) charges $50.00 year and asks for 8 hours labor per year. We have 22 bays (50 - 100 yds)PLUS: a 200 yd sight in range, 100 yard small bore, Pistol Silouette, 500 yd Black powder sil, 1000 yard black powder and a new 1000 yd high power. Our local range has 25, 50, and 100 targets with covered firing line. Only $40 a year, daylight to dusk. Closed one weekend a month, to let neighbors have some quite time.

My local is the Town and Country Gun Club. Our Dues are 35.00 per year for NRA members and 70.00 for non NRA members (Kinda depends who you want to give your 35.00 to). We have a covered line with stops at 25, 50, 100 and 200 yards. Each stop has about six spots. We have a two man pit trap for bowling pin shooters (High cap high speed hijynx). We have an archery range with targets from 10 to 40 yards and an elevated stand to practice your treestand shootin. We also have a trap and a skeet range. We can shoot from dawn to dusk every day except Tuesdays and Sundays. Sundays we can't start until 9:00 am and Tuesday is work day. All that and it's only 5 minutes from the house.

We have a large private shooting range and it costs $300 per year. There is a full time manager who lives at the range. We have a club house that sells powder, shells, bullets, targets etc and is open sometimes for snacks and drinks. We have 12 large action pits that are shared by members for casual shooting and training and also SASS,IDPA and IPSC matches. We have trap, skeet and clays courses. The rifle range has 100, 200 and 300 yard ranges. You may shoot seven days a week from 9am to 9 pm. There are all kinds of rifle, pistol and shotgun matches and also training courses held at the range and there is a large training area with bleachers and a covered area for classes.
I really enjoy the place and use it pretty often.
