I've heard that there are some Barnes bullets that SSK recomends not be used in their barrels due to higher than normal presures, but don't know if this is one of them.
I wouldn't think you'd have any problem reaching that velocity. In my 14" .444 Marlin barrel (.375 JDJ necked up to .429
) I easily get over 2000 with Speer 270s. Actually I've gotten over 2100 without pressure problems, & the load I'm using now (.5 gr under max) is making around 2070.. I'd say contact Barnes & ask them. I just emailed Speer with the same question on their 270gr .429 Gold Dot bullet & they were very informative on their responce (should work at impact velocities anywhere from 975 - 2400!! Now that's versatile.)
