Well, I liked my XD-40 but I'm a 45acp kind of guy. I traded dead even with a guy from work..LOL He said, the 45 was just to big and heavy for him.
Kimber .45acp Stainless II

Wow, that is a beautiful 1911. I think you came out on top of that deal too, Kimber is real proud of their firearms. Just curious though, did you see Sprinfield's new XD in 45 acp? They figured out a way to stuff 14 (I think) rounds in that gun. I held one at a gun show recently and it feels the same in your hand as my XD 9mm.
Not trying to take away from your deal, you pulled off a good one! I hope the guy you traded doesn't belong to this board
Once again, Great trade! You have to tell us how it shoots

Hey XP--Great trade for a great firearm-I have the Pro Carry II stainless. Awesome shooter and not bad for carry either. I thought it would be to heavy but its actually quite comfortable with a quality Desantis holster. Enjoy it and hopefully you'll never need it.

Has yours got the external or internal extractor?

It has the internal extractor...I don't care for the new externals. Just my opinion though.

Then you definitely hit a home run with the trade. The external extractors on the Kimber can be quite problematic based on my experience. I have the tactical pro II and it had the external extractor but now has the internal one. Since it was fixed I've had one jam in about 1000 rounds vs. 3 or 4 jams for every 25 rounds with the external version. Kimber has gotten away from the external version. I suspect they just had too many problems with them.

I'm given it the old PJ work-over right now. Will post pic when I'm done.
