Well, yesterday the weather went from rain, fog and a little sunshine. Just as the weather started to clear. I saw movment in the timber above me. "It was a nice buck" I let out a few low grunts and he worked his way down the trail. I set-up and got ready to take a shot as soon as I could. Just then another buck came-in and the buck turned. I had only one shot now...A high back shot! I ranged him @ 125 yards and set the cross hairs dead-on his back. KABOOOOOM!! The .350 Reminton Mag XP-100 sent a 200gr. Hornady to its mark!

Beautiful buck XP!
Congrats.
What velocity do you get with the 200s? I assume that's the spire point? How does the bullet hold up?

Vance yes, it was the spire point velocity runs right @ 2400fps with a near max listed load of H-4895. The bullet held up and I'm sure its still going..LOL It sure made a big golfball size hole

That's good to hear XP.
I'm just starting to mess with a .358 x 444 barrel, & hoping to be close to that same velocity with that same bullet. Want to make it my moose-black bear gun. Keep my .444 barrel for brushy area moose & brown bear.

I was looking at Alaska Bullet Works "Kodiak" bullets & they look interesting. Controlled expansion bonded core, & they are showing a 180 gr .358 for SS handguns. Not cheap, around $33. for 50, but no worse than partitions & supposedly very versatile velocity wise.

That is outstanding. Nice looking buck!!! He looks like a hog. What did he weigh? I shoot the Hornady 200grn SP Interlock in my 338JDJ#2 and it hits like a sledge hammer. It also shoots right along with the 180grn Nosler BT for accuracy out to 200yds.
I'm working on a deal for a 35Rem Contender barrel and thought that might be the bullet to shoot in it if I can get the velocity to make it perform like it should.
Again, good shooting.

Mike
