Well I just got done shooting 270 encore 15" barrel, 4x28 tasco. Need to work on the load alittle more but they wern't bad. 100yrd group right around 2" I think with some work I can get them down to 1 1/2" or under.

Try a powder in the 4350 (IMR or H) or RL-19 range. I like the really slow stuff for .270 rifles or larger capacity handguns (like my 7mm-270WSM). You may also do better with a little heavier bullet around 140gr.

Another thing to check...make sure your case necks are not too tight since you are using necked down 30-06 brass. Can you easily slide a bullet into the neck of a fired case? If not, then your case necks are too tight and will need turned or just use standard .270 brass. I have a factory T/C 6.5T/CU that needed the necks turned...so it can happen with a factory barrel.

And another thing...make sure you have all the parallex dialed out of the scope. I know a guys that had a very expensive XP-100 (not mine) that would not shoot under a 2" group at 100yds. Turns out that parallex was the problem.
