Ammo can't legally be mailed.....must go UPS or FedEx.....loaded ammo is NOT hazardous material......it must be marked ORMD and shipped ground.....there should be no additional charge. Search for small arms ammunition on the UPS website and you should find what you need to mark the box and ship the ammo.

not that i know of, but anything's possible.
just ship them like anything else and don't declare it as ammo unless you have to.
i don't think they can go usps, though.
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

Shipping ORMD (Other Regulated Material - Dangerous) without notifying the shipper is, at best, a very bad idea and, at worst, a crime.......so, why would you advise someone to do something that stupid???
Sorry if I'm ranting, but I get REALLY tired of people who think the rules are for everyone else! If enough people violate existing rules, then it is likely that someday a license will be required to ship ammo! Take the time to do it right or don't do it at all.......people who ignore regulations just make it harder on the rest of us!

Last time I tried to ship live ammo I came to the conclusion that it couldn't be done legally with out a whole bunch of crap and just marking the box ORM-D won't suffice. FedEx requires some sort of permit and to get the permit you have to be trained on how to package it. blah blah blah Bottom line is they don't want you doing it and they've figured out a way to add enough red tape that you won't. And yes, it is very illegal to send it through the mail.

Call UPS at 1-800-554-9964
Tell them you have a small quantity of small arms ammunition in original packaging and ask them how to ship it. Hopefully, you will get someone with half a brain and they will explain it to you.......it ain't rocket science, and there are LOTS of distributors, internet suppliers and retailers shipping and receiving ammunition everyday.
I haven't shipped any ammo for awhile, but I had absolutely no problems doing so last time I tried......you will probably have to take it to a UPS counter.....I doubt that you can ship it through one of their outlets such as the UPS Store.

i'm sorry, mark. i didn't know that anything special had to be done to ship ammo. that's my fault for not knowing. that's why i qualified my response with "unless you have to". now i know. so please don't accuse me of trying to "skirt" the laws or break them. i approve nothing of the sort. if you remember i am one of the few who stands with you in asserting plainly that people should only make encore pistols from encore pistol frames. so to the best of my knowledge, i only promote doing things as legally as possible. please don't accuse me of doing otherwise. and if you're done chewing on it, i would like to have my a$$ back now.
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

Sorry, it just hit me wrong at the time......one of my pet peeves is people giving advice when they don't know what they are talking about.....and we both know it happens all to frequently on these boards......but, you are right, I certainly could and should have been a lot nicer about it....I should also have looked at the time that you posted your response and realized that you hadn't read my post first......please except my apology!
