I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with these things? How are they?

Think I can tear one up on my 460?

Yes...I have one on my Super Striker 7mm-08. I've only sighted it in and then ran a box of shells through it, but it performed fine. It is 2 x 7 variable mounted on a Leupold base and rings. I got it from Shots Gunsmithing. He is typically online over at SP forum.Jim L. "Shots" Hendershot Sr. [shots@cpros.com] Check it out and give Jim a call. He works alot with Mike Bellm and has been a great source of information.

Love the one on my .22 Hornet Contender (also a 2-7x). .358Hammer over on SP has been using one (also the 2-7x) on a heavy recoiling Encore pistol with no brake (I believe it's a .338-06 but it might be his .35 Whelen improved. Can't remember) as sort of a torture test, & after a couple of nice dear & several trips up & down Kodiak Alaksa's rough mountains in all kinds of weather along with normal target shooting it had held up fine last I heard.
I'm going to try one for my next scope on my heavy Contenders.

I guess I am just plain unlucky. I had an early version on my 15" 30-06 and it lasted about 15 rounds before it litteraly fell apart; It wouldn't hold 'zero'! and I also tried of their DOT scopes on my M686 357 Mag and it too came apart inside of 50 rounds at the range. The front lens droped right out, so I dropped it right in the bucket. Those 357's are heavy kickers! I was also curious and had to try, but I learned my lesson. I hope yours holds up better than mine. I agree with your early assessment; you do usually get what you pay for!
