Hey guys, I have a buddy selling an Encore Pistol. It is all stainless, in 7mm08 Rem, 15 inch barrel. It has a Weaver 2.5 x8x28 stainless scope & mounts.
I dont know how old it is, but I know it looks brand new. I know what I paid for mine new, but not sure on these used ones. Any ideas?

Thanks for the imput guys....
I just talked with him. Finances are gonna work out sooner than I thought so I should be getting it middle of next week.
Here is a thought I had though. Tell me what yall think.
It is the 15" SS and I really like that the 12" blued barrel I already have is more compact. I was thinkin about (when time comes and I can) havin a brake installed on mine. Well since Im getting the stainless one I will obviously keep it and do so to it instead. Since I like the shorter size would it be a good idea to have the 15" stainless braked and cut down to where it was overall 12 or 13"?
What do yall think?

If you cut it down AND put a brake on it, you'll be down to as little as 10" of rifled bore left. It's up to you whether you want to take that cut in velocity.

Stay full length and don't worry about a brake. A heavy 7-08 like that does not recoil enough to need one. But...that's just my opinion.
I'd rather have the velocity...losing 100fps in a handgun is huge in terms of down range performance.

Thanks guys.
I know the 7-08 12" is plenty managable so I can wait to see how sweet the SS 15" is.
Ill probably just leave it alone.

Thanks for the imput guys.
The recoil on the blued 12" isnt bad...Im sure the 15" SS will be even sweeter.
I may as well leave it alone. I cant see the advantages outweighing the downrange losses I reckon.

Well, if you want to tinker............how about you brake that 15"er where it is at and then top it with a long gun scope, say a 4-12x50 or something similar. You'll really get a field of view then and no use for that Weaver which you could then sell to me for a song since you esentially got it for nuttin'
Rod, too.
