Here she is folks!!

7-08 with 2.5-8x28 Weaver.

Got it cleaned up and went and shot today. I tried those Federal Fusions and Im geting about 1" groups @ 100!!! I know thats easy for you pros, but Im pretty excited about it...good stuff!!!

I REALLY like that scope....it makes me see how cheap the NCstar really is.

Nice!! I've still not bitten on an Encore chassis...really do not want to make the jump into "needing" a whole new line of available barrels. But that is one super nice gun.

And about the group...one inch at 100yds is certainly impressive with a break action handgun. When I get my "deer capable" Contenders down to that level is when I usually quit. The varmint cailbers have to shoot .75" or less to be acceptable. Then the bolt action handguns...well....5" or less or they will find another place to live...so far that's not been a problem.

But...these groups are with the 3-12x32 Burris scopes. The extra little magnification helps shrink the groups by allowing a finer aiming point on target.

Nice looking weapon. I have 2 Contender frames, a G2 frame, 2 Encore frames and various revolvers. I must say that the Encore stainless with the 15" .375-06 JDJ barrel topped with the 3-12x Burris is the prettiest of the lot. No offense to Contender owners but the Encore has nice lines. IMO

That should provide lots of fun and game critters for the freezer.
I've never owned a TC, but I'm thinking of getting an Encore for Mississippi's muzzle loader season and other stuff. You can now shoot metalic cartridge guns during that season provided they met a few requirements. Go figure.
How big a deal is changing barrels and does the pivot pin/hole wear a lot?

Changing barrels is super fast. About 2 minutes grips and foreamrs included. I am sure over a long period of time the hinge pinc could wear (which they sell oversized ones btw), but mine is fine after two years of using it. The "new" one (in the picture) is alot older than my Encore rifle and it is solid as well. No play in it.

my encore was made in 1996 and has had countless .30-06, .223, and most recently .50 cal ml loads run thru it. no detectable wear at all on the pin or holes on the barrel lugs. shoots as good today as ever and not loose at all.

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

That's what I hear from everyone I know that owns them. But of course most guys won't talk bad about their trucks, dogs, or guns even if they are worthless. That's why I asked you guys. Honest brokers.
Figures. No one ever asks me to repair one. I'll get one before next year. And probably let it live in the same cabinet with the XP's.
