Anybody used Reloader 7 in their 32-20, or 25-20 for that matter, in a Contender? What's your load data? Thanks.

John

It may work in the 25-20 with the smaller bore diameter and thus the need for a slower powder.

But in the 32-20 I've used W231, W296 and Alliant 2400 with great results. Bullets are any 110-135gr offering. All touching at 50yds is the norm and under 1.5" at 100yds is very common. I loaded a batch of 115gr cast Penn FN's with a slight amount of W231 for a friend to use in CO for Mt Lion. The cat was dead on the first shot but did not know it. She jumped and ran 70yds when John nailed her again and the chase was over.

I have shot the 30-20 in a TC for quite a few years now. I have used bullets from 110's through 200+. My powder of choice is AA#9 with 296 right behind that. I worked with the 30x221 for about 2 years before I gave up, it didn't live up to my expectations. I bought the 30-20 brand new from TC, it shot well out of the gate. I now have a BF in this caliber, it is an exceptionaly good shooter. I find this as my go to caliber for shooting steel critters. It can be loaded close enough to the 30x221 that there is no difference to argue over, with the positive side of having a rim.
