Had an 8 3/8" barreled 44 a few years back. Easy recoil with that ported barrel, more accurate than I was capable of. Grips were a bit small for my hands, so I slapped on a Hogue mono-grip. Problem solved. Never had the problem of the cylinder loosening up under heavy handloads like other shooters claimed. My thought was that if I needed maximum handloads on a regular basis, what I really needed was a bigger caliber. I didn't need anything bigger than a .44 for California deer and hill pigs. It's a well made piece, hang on to it!

DONT think about it. BACK AWAY!! Look at a Ruger, anything else. I own one. My conscious won't let me pawn it off on anybody, yet. Never met anybody I disliked enough. I won't lie it shoots very well. It has broken 3 times. After last repair it is in the closet. Taurus has very poor customer svc. It is more like customer NO service(Clark Howard). This is just my terriable experiance with this handgun.
