Had an 8 3/8" barreled 44 a few years back. Easy recoil with that ported barrel, more accurate than I was capable of. Grips were a bit small for my hands, so I slapped on a Hogue mono-grip. Problem solved. Never had the problem of the cylinder loosening up under heavy handloads like other shooters claimed. My thought was that if I needed maximum handloads on a regular basis, what I really needed was a bigger caliber. I didn't need anything bigger than a .44 for California deer and hill pigs. It's a well made piece, hang on to it!
