It has come to my attention that when I go to the range to shoot I have a lot of junk. I have to sometimes make three trips from the truck to the benches. I am not looking for a wheel barrow or a cart to haul stuff. I am thinking more about a machinist chest or a range bag. What do you people use to carry your primary and secondary equipment in? I live close to where I shoot so it isn't like I reload there, but none the less it's amazing the amount of equipment you use.

I use a box my wife bought me for the purpose almost 15 yrs ago.
It came from Sears & was called the SST (sit, stand, tote).
It's a hard plastic box with a flat top & recessed handle. The flat lid is held on with two heavy plastic "cam-over" type latches. It then has a shallow (2"deep ?)lift out tray that cleaning gear, .22 shells, earplugs, etc. stays in. Then another lift out tray that's deeper. Shooting gloves, the Chrony, & a couple of 50 round plastic MTM ammo boxes for large rifle rounds along with staple gun, notebook, & etc fit in there with room to spare.
The bottom ends up being probablt close to 12" deep. In it goes more ammo if needed, sandbags, tripod for Chrony, targets, spotting scope, etc. I suppose I could toss guns in there too but when I get all the other stuff in there it's getting a bit heavy.
It is a tuff voc probably a total of 30" x 18" & 20" deep (guesstimate), & as the name suggests is tough enough that I've put over 220# standing on it with no problems.
Don't know if they are still available, but something like it must be.

I bought a stanley tool box (plastic), it has a retractable handle and wheels. the top lifts off and there is a removable tray that holds accessories, staple gun, ammo etc. the tray lifts out and is large enough to hold my rest and sand bags. I got it at Home Depot, I believe it was around $40. I can bunge my gun cases to the top and only have to make one trip to the benches.

i use one of the ol womans reject tote bags to pack some sand bags, stick pins for targets, ear muffs, and possibly some orange stickers
i try n not make too big of a job out of those sort of things. just a few necessities. i have an ol plastic tool box that holds my cleaning supplies or various small tools that i also usually take.

The MTM sportsmans utility box has worked good for me. I reinforced the top try with a piece of 3/16" plywood under the foam. Price was $19.95 a few years ago, but I see that has gone up some. Here is the link to Midway for the box.

I use a rolling hard case from Lowes. It has a retracting handle. Holds most of my gear and I bunji pistol. rifle, and chrongraph cases to the top.

Go to Wal-Mart. Buy a small suitcase for less than $20.00 w/ wheels and a retractable handle that you see airline travelers walking around airports with every day. Carries a surprising amount of gear to the range from the truck.

Gee, I am sure happy to see I am not the only one that seems to have an abundance of equipment. Some good ideas given! I will have to check a few of them out.I will probably skip the womens tote bag Idea, I am a tad to close to Minneapolis for that. Thanks for the responses!

Last summer, I bought a large camo duffle bag at a local gun show, mainly because it was at a really good price. I had thought about storing my hunting clothes in it, but have since converted it into a giant range bag. It's large enough to carry 2 or 3 Strikers, an Encore, spotting scope, sand bags, staple gun, ammo, and still have room for more. Sure, it's heavy when loaded, but it has a shoulder strap and it's not far from the truck to the benches. Our range layout isn't set up the best for rolling tool boxes, or I would probably use the large wheeled Craftsman plastic box that I have.

I have a duffle like bag but its really getting to heavy when loaded with ammo and stuff, Thanks guys for the new ideas, gonna have to check out the rolling tool boxes
