Pull up the Uncle Mikes web page and look at their detachable sling posts. Drill it on a drill press if you have one available. That's what most will use on the wood forends.

Katcher, I ordered one from Midway for the contender but they were out of stock for the encore, do you know what the difference is other than twice the price?why wouldn't a generic QD mount work?

Bipod schmipod, if you have a portable shooting bench, buy yourself a 8x14" or so catch-all gear bag at the local sporting goods shop for $2 or $3 and fill it with packing peanuts. Almost no weight to lug around, you can clip it to a belt loop if you need to, and your pistol just snuggles down into it real solid. Not much movement pre-shot as your whole forend has solid support. Cheaper still, cut the leg off an old pair of sweat pants at the knee, sew one end shut, put a drawstring at the other. Lightweight, effective and quiet, so it'll work on a deer stand just as well. And there you go, a low-tech solution to a high-tech problem.

Sorry I'm late in answering you. I got to do my civic duty as a juror on a local drug case and never got back on the site Monday. I guess I assumed you had a wooden forend. What do you have? I have wooden Georgia Jim's on all my guns I need a bipod. If that's the case and you can't find one, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up.
