Short version is they shot much better than the jacketed were. All shooting was 53 yds. Avg group size was just under 1.5", & one cluster of 3 that went into .4 showed me that The load could probably do much better than I was shooting.
Still below what I was hoping for velocity wise for brown bear. I was hoping for 1650 & would have settled for 1600. I got about 1570. That's OK, this was my 1st load. I used 50.0 gr of H322, & max is 52.5 so I have some room to work. A little more powder might tighten up deviation of velocities a bit to.
Was not unpleasant to shoot by the way.

Have you tried RE-7 ? I had a 16.5 45-70 that pushed a 405 Cast @ 1850fps.

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't know, but jacketed usually won't scoot along as fast as lead with like charges, & usually run higher pressure. Did you have 16.5 of actual barrel? Mine is 15" with the brake, so probably 14" real barrel?
I may load up some RE 7 loads when I load up my hotter H322 loads & do some comparing.
