I voted morning as well, but depending on the stage of the rut we've taken some monsters at mid-day. They just seem to cruise at will.

Rod, too.

I know tons and tons of hunters that swear by the morning hunt. I got tired of being tired and frozen in the dark waiting for day light so I could go without seeing a thing.

I voted evening although its really mid day into evening. Usually 2pm till too dark to shoot.

I've had my best "luck" mid-day to dark. I voted evening.

I've never taken a good deer in the morning. A couple have been taken in the middle of the day, but evening is the time I've done the best on bigger bucks

I killed my biggest buck, have taken many good bucks, and have seen the most racked bucks during cool early morning hunts so I voted for the early morning hunt.

I have also seen and taken good bucks on late afternoon hunts in the last 15 minutes or so of daylight. I just haven't seen as many bucks late afternoon as I have in early morning periods.

Both periods are excellent times to hunt so don't pass either opportunity up.

Biggest deer have been shot before 9 a.m. in my neck of the woods. The area I hunt gets very little pressure during deer season. Big bucks seem to move around all day long but get shot running the scape line early in the morning hours.
