the redhawk....use a "quiethide" holster custom made to fit an outline of your gun for a true custom holster. prices should be reasonable too! http://qh-holsters.com/

my preference goes to the sling for the single shots, but one could also use the quiethide holster for that also.

Kentucky….no place like home.

Or here:

Pistol Packaging

I have their Bandito Belt rig and like it a lot.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Welcome to the board Casca!!!!
I don't play with a Redhawk right now, but like Kyode I use a sling for my Encores.
I have played with a friends Quiethide for his Encore on a hunt & would not hesitate to recomend them. I may give one a try at some point for the Encore.

I`ve carried my FA 454 in a lot of places using a Bandito rig and its held up just fine. I had a second holster made up for a
scoped 8" Wesson 744 which happens to work great for my scoped
Redhawk. Good hunting, JFJ
PS- the Bandito rig I refer to above is their across the shoulder model.

Welcome aboard Casca!!!!

I have a Pistol Packaging Bandito shoulder holster for my unscoped Super Redhawk and a Bianchi shoulder holster for a scoped 9.5" Super Redhawk. Pistol Packaging will make a holster for a scoped gun also. What's nice about the PP Bandito is once you have the shoulder belt all you need is to change out the holster to hang on it for each gun.

If you are not using a scope, try the pancake style holster from simplyrugged.com. I have one for my 5" Raging Bull in .454. I have a J-Point (Pro-Point) on that gun, and Simply Rugged added some extra length to the top of the holster to protect the sight at N/C. Nice folks. Nice price. Nice product.

Has anyone tried the Uncle Mikes Sidekick Vertical shoulder holster for the SRH with 7 1/2" barrel? Looking for something that sits conveniently under a hunting jacket, preferably able to wear whist carrying a pack.

I have a screwed up neck so I have problems with shoulder holsters but I've found that a cross draw works great for me, especialy if it is iron sighted. I've found that the gun rides nice and is quicker out of the holster which is nice if what your shooting at has claws and teeth.
