My 14" .22lr is just about my favorite Contender barrel. This was 10-15 shots (forget exactly how many, just finished off the box) at 25 yards with a Simmons 2-6 power scope. There is nothing like a day at the range with my son shooting clays and other peoples spent brass and shotgun shells with our .22's.

These two barrels shoot better than the originals. But I'm going to have to do a trigger job on the Buckmark before I know just how good it shoots.

Both these guns like winchester dyna-points but I had to switch to Remington "goldens" for the Ruger and haven't worked with the Buckmark yet. Walmart quit selling winchester ammo and no one else around here sells the dyna-points in the 500 pack

I have one of the Ruger SA Hunter handguns. It has the .22 LR and the .22 Mag cylinders. I mounted a 2.5X6 scope in the beginning, but then switched to a very compact 1" tube red dot. I have found it to shoot more accurate than any of my other rimfire .22 handguns. The factory open sights are really great if you have young eyes, but mine a way past being young!
I have owned this 'Ruger Hunter' for three years and have really enjoyed it. I did the "Poor Mans Trigger Job" on the handgun and have a creep free and very crisp 2 1/2 lb. trigger. It is one of those must keep,(In my opinion), handguns that come along a few times in life.
Since Ruger put a faster twist rate in this .22 handgun, (1 in 15, like the standard model Goverment Model MK2), it seems to improve overall accuracy.
