Going to use it specifically for Wild boar.So power is of importance. Looking for a muzzleloading handgun easy to load and easy maintenance. Any ideas would be great.

You need to decide weather you want to go modern or trodishinal. Either would be sufficient. However, the modern black powder, like the TC Encore, are more powerful. If you go trodishinal, shoot a big caliber. I would say 54 or larger. From my understanding, the TC 50 pistol can shoot 100 of FF. But there are others on the form that are more knowable than I with the newer black powder.

For power you can't beat the T/C. Loads of 200 grains of Pyrodex are no problem if you can hang on to it. For ease of maintenance get a .25 ACP breech plug, it virtually eliminates any blowback into the frame. I have the link to that company around somewhere. Check regs on ML revolvers, in MN we can use a ML handgun but not a revolver, go figger. Also no optics on ML's either here, bummer. I will be getting an Encore ML pistol soon, for the only reason I can see to get an Encore. FWIW, Rod.

I wonder if you can get a rubber type grip for the 54 cal Restoration Firearms pistol? If it has that much power that smooth rounded hogleg would be hard to hold on to.

Hey Tigger, I was thinking the same thing. But the pistol does look like to have some serious power though.

now you have to stay traditional with that pistol, use materials our fore fathers could have gotten like pine tar, just put some stickum on your hand and your ready to go..LOL
