First of all....good luck with the opening day. Be safe and don't wear your brown underoos unless you want some knuckle head tying you to the hood and going to the bar to show off!!

Anyhooo...what are you "gun plans"? I'm going to bust out the SSK 45-70 Govt this year....that will be a first for me. Usually the .338JDJ#2 makes the first day treck but I changed stand positions a little into much thicker cover and the big thumper should do nicely. 300gr Hornady HP shoved by 41gr XMP5744 groups under 2.5" at 100yds.

After that all bets are off and I'm hitting my LR spots in hopes of finding a nice 400+yd shot with the Lil'Monster (XP-100 7mm/270WSM w/ a 162gr A-Max at 2825fps). Scouted one spot the other day and found three deer bedded up in a thicket at 377yds..then saw a stray cat at 432yds. He does not know it but he used a life right there! I had the .250SAI XP trained on him and dialed in!! \:\/ If it were not for wanting to spook the deer I'd'a let him have it! ;\) Then I took the Lil'Monster to the range on Thursday AM and made first shot connections on clay targets at 300, 400 and 500yds. Did the same with the .250SAI. Both are ready to roll!!

Well...good luck and just be safe!!

Good luck to all you PA hunters. Be safe, I wish I was there with you. I've never hunted in PA before, maybe next year.

I think that I'm taking my 35 Remington rimmed out. But I have been know to change my mind on opening morning. I converted the 35 Rem. to the rimmed version myself this summer and have spent a lot of time with it the past few months. That new 338 Federal that I've been playin with keeps callin my name also. I guess I won't know till morning. Good luck.

Dan you read my mind with post I just got on line to post this same question.

I still have 1 buck and 1 doe tag. I think since they are calling for rain I'm going stainless and planning on starting with the Ruger SBH with ultra dot sight in 44 mag. Most of my shots in tomorrow's location are under 75 yards so it should be just fine. Plus a shoulder holser under the raincoat should keep everything nice and dry.

After filling first tag I'm thinking on switching to one of my Herretts .30 0r .357 both of which are 10" and wear 2x scopes.
Of course I'm going need to have my binos to count the points.

Good luck tomorrow.

Well Dan, looks like you MAY have ENOUGH SP's to make it through the season, but I am not quite sure though....
Be safe, good luck and have fun!
