I have those on my 7mm Mag and 375 H&H. They work very well.

good mount mentioned by prevoius posters.....and........

my favorite is the weaver base with 3 leupold rifleman vertical split rings(walmart usually carries the rings). my 15" 7-08 wears a 3 ring redfield smp n i like it as well. check out my "braggin board" pics to view some.

there are several quality mounts available really. MGM or stratton custom has a nice weaver style steel base. not sure 3 rings could be used on it with a 2x7, but on the 3x12, yes.

I like the Signature rings from Burris. I usually run the Weaver mount on my encore barrels, and a Leupold dovetail mount on my XP's and Strikers. I don't like the windage adjustable dovetail as I have had trouble keeping them tight. If you need windage or elevation adjustment in the mount the Signature rings are great as there is an offset insert kit that will do just that.

Anything with recoil at 6.5 JDJ levels or less, rifle or pistol, gets Weaver bases and 2 Burris Signature rings. Not for the recoil, but because the polymer ring inserts are self centering and put almost no lateral stress on the scope tube. Plus I've never had a scope slip in these rings. For my big boomers, I have SSK put on a T'SOB base,(about $55 without rings, plus return shipping), then add 2 or 3 Signature rings depending on recoil level. Just to see if they'd hold, I only put 2 on my Encore rifle in .375 H&H Magnum. Run about 20 rounds a month through it to keep my shooting muscles in shape. So far, no slippage.

I use either the weaver base with the Leupold Rifleman rings like Kyode or Leupold dual dovetail.
