I think with the new fellas we are seeing on the board...that it's time for a little gun porn!!

The pic is kind of bleached but this is my .222 Rem Mag Imp (45 degree shoulder). I really enjoy my other XP's but this one just has a real "tactical" feel to it with the Sand colored HS stock, blacked out bolt handle and 3-12x32 Burris with target knobs. The quarter sized groups at 300yds also add to the appeal!! And believe it or not this is the only XP that I have not killed anything with yet!!

I have two project guns that will be done someday. First a Striker in 243.

Another Striker in 260 Rem. I was really looking forward to getting this rig modified and running this winter.

Here are a couple of my Rugers. The bottom is my 41 loaded with 210gr XTP's over 21gr of H-110 at 50yds, 20 shots total. I haven't taken any of my new favorite, the Contender in 45-70. But i am going to shoot it in a few. I love that beast. I cant wait to get on some hogs with it. I'm going to the desert in a few days. Dont know i will do with out my babies. I'll plan how to blow the money i saved up while over there. Any of you guys shot anything really big. I've seen a Rhino and a couple Buffalo. But i mean some thing that would really push our guns. Elephant, T-Rex, something like that.

6.5-284 rear-grip XP with a dog kill @ 1800 yards. The spot that the arrow is pointing to is my suburban, just over a mile away. You can see some of the blood around the mound from this angle.

Here are my Contenders. Top is 45-70 and the bottom is 223. I'm not thinking grand+ shots yet, but we can work on a couple hundred yards. I just traded a Sig P226 for the 223.

I almost ordered one in 270 WSM, but an Anschutz Exemplar like new in the box came along and took the down payment. nmhunter do you think HS will offer thier pistol in the Ruger Compact Magnums?? Not that I would jump ship on the 270 WSM, but it's just something that crossed my mind.

Just remember that she is also proficient out to 1k with that pistol (I will never forget the 1st clay pigeon she hit with that pistol @ IA) and the first time she shot a centerfire rifle in her life she won her relay for score at a sanctioned 1,000 yard IBS match in Pella, IA.

Ernie, I'm guessing she got her looks from her ma but the firearms proficiency from you, definately a girl to be proud of. So how many of her dates have been introduced to your gun collection before taking her out. I have two daugters, 7 and 10 and I know my daughters will be mad at me when the boys show up but as you know there is something special about a daughter, no matter how old they get they will always be your little girl.

Hey Tigger, you read my mind on the the new Ruger compactmagnums, I have already talked to Josh at HS and they have not started to chmaber for them yet but most likely will. I ahve the 270 WSM as well and it is a fine shooter with a bunch of power behind it. would still like to have a RCM in teh 338 mod3e though.

Ernie, that is an awesome picture. You have a beautiful daughter! I'll show my daughter this when she gets home from school. I'm sure her senior pics will now include a handgun. I think it's great our girls are interested in handguns.

nmhunter does HS still have a 1 year lead time on thier pistol? What I'm thinking is if I order it now I might have it when I'm feeling better. I think Ruger might have a good cartridge that will sell. The 325 WSM should have been a 338 WSM. I like the 8mm idea and I think it could be handloaded to perform excellent. But the maketing idea was bad. Too many guys are enamored with the 338 caliber and it sells way more than the 8mm ever will.

I heard that country song the other day. It really struck a chord with me. My little girl is 13 going on 30 and time is going by way to fast! All her boy friends will have a little chat with old dad BEFORE the first date.
