Hello,
I'm Dave from Southwest Va. I have been handgun hunting for several years, first deer was with a S&W 629, been hooked ever since. I basically observe two seasons, hunting and fishing. I love to deer hunt, I use bow,muzzleloader and pistol. If they ever open up a sharp stick season. I'd probably be trying different kinds of wood to see which one sticks the best!! LOL. Great site, I hope I can contribute in the future forums.

My name is JD from Reubens Idaho. I have been handgun hunting off and on for many years and have taken many deer with 44mags. I am on my 4th 44mag and finally the one that works best for me, a ruger super redhawk 44mag with a 7.5" barrel. I enjoy handgun hunting so much more than rifle hunting because it is more challenging and rewarding. I will share my experiences and hope to hear others as well. Great site!

Dave here. I'm 38 and I'm active duty Air Force stationed in Rapid City, South Dakota. I've been a member here for a while but I don't post alot, I read mostly. I post on other forums more.
I've only been hunting with handguns for a couple of years now and I love it. I didn't get an antelope this year though. I use T/C, XP (work in progress) and sometimes a revolver. I'm still learning and trying!!
I don't harvest animals, I kill them...I don't take a Combine hunting!!!

Hi All.
TC Encore pistol 30-06 w/custom 15 1/8" heavy barrel including brake and a 2x7 Burris scope.
Ruger .44 Mag SRH W/1.5X4 Burris scope and a Crimson Trace laser grip.
Ruger .44 Mag SBH Bisley HUNTER. Bare bones for now. It came with a bushnell scope but it needs something better than that.... Still thinking about it.

Hi ! I 'm Roger, just getting into hand gun hunting, I have a Ruger SBH Bisley Hunter 44 Mag. still considering optics.
I am also considering A Ruger Single Six Hunter in 22 l.r. and 22 w.m.r. as a nice companion.
I also have a G2 in 204.

Hi, I am a long time hunter that was looking for a new challenge. Hunting deer in Wisconsin with a handgun seemed like a great new challenge...add to that my wife wants to learn to shoot and we end up with a couple handguns today.
She spotted the pink Taurus 9mm, but after holding and gripping about 15 guns today she wound up with a Browning Buckmark 22lr. Cheap to shoot and learn and it fit like a glove. She also liked the 1911 style, so that will be the next progression I am sure.
Me? Gotta love that I get to borrow "Her" gun for tree rats. And I picked up a used DW 357 from the newspaper. Should do fine for the archery close deer hunting I do.

Hey All,
I'm Eric from Wisconsin. Got into shooting pistols and wheel guns about 4 years ago as I became bored deer hunting with a rifle.
First deer I shot with a 480 ruger and made a terrible shot...tracked it for a mile and half and managed to finish him off. Since then I bought a 44 super black hawk and have harvested 8 deer with it since. I absolutely love the 44. Then just because Smith and Wesson made one I had to have a 500, it sure is a fun gun to shoot but I don't have much desire to hunt with it.
I joined because I have been starting to shoot longer ranges(for me) lately and I have been looking advise on the subject. Anyway I look forward to browse this site!
