My name is Bob, I start every day thanking God for all he has given me! I reside in the great state of Ohio. My true love is the outdoors, (and Jeannine)! I have three Son's and 7 Grandchildren w/one on the way! I am a retired Iron Worker, I was a licensed guide on Lake Erie for many years, but have had to sell the boat and give it up as I have sever back injuries from two different accidents resulting in 11 different broken vertebra, I still fish often year round but on smaller lakes. I have been a handgun hunter for over 37 years. My favorite weapon for hunting is the single action revolver, and mainly the .45 cal. and mainly in the 45 Colt! Altho I do use SP's once in a while to stretch the limits of the revolver, but I always carry a revolver when I do. So my hunting has changed too, as I can't negotiate the big hills of Southern Ohio northern Kentucky, but still hit the woods almost daily from Sept to Feb. hunting Indiana and Ohio, and varmint with my handguns all year long. I compete in the summer with bench guns and varmint rifles, but the 5 and six shot revolvers are by far my favorite. Sorry so long winded, but you asked for it!

Hi, my name is Brian. I have been hunting with a handgun since the early 90's. I have two Contender frames with 9 barrels. I shoot a 7-30 Waters and a 30 Herrett, plus I have a Magnum Research SSP in 7BR. For Elk I use a 44 mag barrel also scoped shooting a 300 gr. hard cast bullet over 22 grs. of 296, does the job. All are scoped because I'am blind as a bat with out my glasses. Hunting in the great Northwest is a real test of skill where most of the time you have to fall down just to make a trail to walk on because the brush is so thick.

Name is Kevin. I am an Environmental Engineer in Central Arkansas. I was the biggest guy at a place I worked in the early 1990's and I was tagged as "Baby Fat", although I'm not. Nickname kinda stuck. I hunt about everything and do some plinking but no structured organized competition. I have a Colt Anaconda 44, Kimber 1911 Target II Eclipse, Springfeild Armory 1911 GI, Ruger Mark II .22 and a Keltec PF9 (for carry). Numerous long-guns. Just registered today and posted a question about mounts for the Anaconda. Looks like a good site.

Welcome to the site. I saw your post but I'm afraid I can't offer any sage advise. Some guns just don't allow for easy mounting of a scope, nice gun though. You may want to consider keeping that one as an iron sighted shooter and pick up something else for scoping.

I have several Contenders, to be honest I haven't hunted much with them, mainly bench shooting. My hunting buddy passed away in July and I put down my rifle, just not the same anymore. My Contenders will be my main source of hunting from now on, been thinking about a Striker. I found this site by looking for a load for my TC using AA2200, it looks great. I'm on a couple of other sites but looking foward to gathering more information on handgun loads and hunting. Just wanted to say hi and tell a little about myself. Thanks,

My name is Bill, I live in the mountains of East Tn., I started hunting with a handgun in 1999 but have took a few year off, I do bowhunt but havent took a rifle in the woods since 2001. I hunt with a Taurus Raging Bull .44 mag.

Neil in Iowa. 8 handgun deer since 2004. First with an open-sighted .41 Mag Dan Wesson. After that I was hooked. Remaining 7 with S&W .500. Love the late seasons when it is cold and snowy and all the "regulars" are long-gone. Almost always a solitary hunter.

Hi, Chris here. Been a proud handgun owner for a long time, but didn't do any hunting with them until mid 90s. Several hogs, whitetails, exotics, a few mulies, groundhogs and most recently, and an antelope, have been taken since then. Hopefully a bear hunt will materialize in the near future.

I only have 1 revolver anymore and I'm down to just 2 Encore barrels. A 7/08 and 375JDJ. Always pondering on calibers, though.

Just registered here today, so I'm as new as it gets. My name is Wes and I'm a manager at a medical facility. Been an outdoor guy all of my life, but a spinal cord injury due to a motorcycle accident about 10 months ago has really turned me on to handgun hunting. Currently have a 44 mag super blackhawk and looking at getting a contender in 30-30. I'd love any advice getting into the sport, especially relating to disability hunting.
