Just checking in. I walked out in the deer woods yesterday with only the SBH on my side. I should have nailed a cottontail but I had this notion I may see a deer. I did not. I have added a Smith 21-4 Thunder Ranch to my collection. It shoots good and load development is going well.

Hello all
My Name is Niels and I come from Denmark. Im brand new to handgun hunting but have been hunting with rifle for about 6 years. I have been shooting revolvers for about 4 years now (targetshooting) and want to try hunting with them now. Hva just purchased a FA 83 in 454 casull witch I believe will be good for the big boars (300+ pounds) we have at my families place. I do my own reloading as well. Im really glad I found this site.....lots of interesting and useful articles and forums.

Hi all, just found the forum and I'm excited! Name's Jeff and I took my first whitetail with my S&W 686 no dash 357 with a handloaded 158 grain XTP pushed with14.9 grains of 2400 and a mag primer. Max load stepped up gradually. I'm getting a chrono for xmas, so my handloading will be a bit more scientific. On that note, I'm a biologist by degree and trade.

Well, I am a retired fish hatchery Supervisor from WI. I enjoy shooting/hunting with muzzleloaders and own three flinters. Also have an inline. I also use centerfire and rimfire rifles, shotguns and have presently 2 handguns, a 22 cal Ruger semiauto and a Taurus Judge. I have used, bought and sold a few long and short guns in my 61 years. I would like to try hunting deer with handgun. I am considering 10 mm, but barrel length is an issue in WI. Also thinking about a 41 mag. I have shot but not hunted with 44mag Ruger and TC with a 3030 barrel previously. Looking to learn something here to help me make up my mind. WI now also has CCW so I am interested in that as well.

Hi my name is Jon, I'm a Contender afficianado and handgun hunter. I've shot .22, 30-30, and 35 Rem, all factory barrels & ammo. Biggest game challenge has been Calif hogs with a 35 Rem shooting factory 200gr round nose. I'm looking forward to braking in my latest barrel a 14" SSK 6.5 Grendal and getting ready for Mule deer next season. I'm already planing my next barrel for elk & bear and can't decide between a 45-70 or 375 JDJ. I would love to hear from those who have experience with either and what their thoughts are. I'm still learning to navigate this site, but love it!

My name is Matt and my wife got me a SBH and gave it to me as an early Christmas present this year. I took a doe in the Pa rifle season with it and am definitely hooked.

Thanks for the welcome. I am brand new to it, though I have archery hunted for a number of years....but pistols are a lot more fun. :-) I plan on posting a question in a few days but I just want to read through the old posts to gain some kowledge first. I will say that this appears to be the best place to learn next to the range.
