Yep I was reading about that. One, yes one, California condor has died of lead poisoning since 1977 and thus you now have a ban on lead. If anyone thinks this is about conservation think again - this is about gun control.

I thought, as of now anyway, that this ban was only in effect in certain "condor" zones; not the whole state.
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

Yup, 10/4 on that...
It just so happens these areas are some prime zones to hunt in. Other than that, were led is permitted it's just barren desert.

They are not taking my guns. I'm going to start stocking up on stuff, move to the top of a mountain and live off the land. Anyone want to join me. OK OK I'm just venting at the moment, but I am going to stock up.

I read a great bumper sticker the other day. It said, “Vegetarian, Indian word meaning bad hunter!”
As much as I have spent on reloading supplies recently I completely understand.

Yep I was reading about that. One, yes one, California condor has died of lead poisoning since 1977 and thus you now have a ban on lead. If anyone thinks this is about conservation think again - this is about gun control. Yeah, and the worst part is that scientists do not even agree that it was from a bullet. There are many natural occurances of lead that can be attributed to this issue. The ban has been expanded to include rimfire and ML as well, when it was supposed to be for centerfire only. The anti's have found a new front to fight us, you can expect to see more of this crap elsewhere so be watchful and call your reps!

Now that CA is leading the way, other states are looking into lead bans too (AZ & MA that I know of). Gary is right, it has nothing to do with conservation. Just like ammo encoding has nothing to do with crime. The antis have figured out that a gun is useless if you can't put ammo in it. On another site, a lot of the guys are stocking up on lead in anticipation of what is to come. To para-phrase Braveheart, if things don't change soon, it will soon be a case of playing outlawed songs on outlawed pipes.

"SALAD" IS WHAT FOOD EATS. Sound alike look alike drug! Don’t you think we have enough people here on meds? I have started picking a lot of brass up at the gun range. I picked up 50 pieces of 375H&H and 75 pieces of 30-06 for .05 cents a piece. All once fired. I am just looking for alternatives.

That's what you need to do is stock up on everything you think you will need. and of course fight the anti gun groups.

Sad but true. All over one condor that they cannot even agree was killed by bullet lead. Barnes makes solid copper and there are more brands coming with no lead bullets. You can get Barnes bullets in federal premium, black hills, and cor-bon loads if you do not reload.
Arizona Game and Fish now "requests" hunters use no lead bullets in all condor units.
