I've got two as well (the blue one covered in other posts):

The stainless one is a S&W Performance Center m/629-5 Extreme Hunter w/12" barrel. I use it only for competition here at home, but it could be useful for hunts in Spain where they for unclear reasons have a minimum barrel length requirement of 12"....but at least they allow handgun hunting, which is more than what could be said of my country...

Cowboy Boogie, That is a nice S&W! How's the ported barrel work for you? I thought about sending mine off to Magna-Port. I have the 629 in the 2 tone. Wasn't sure how much it helped.

Jeremy, it works well as a flashlight in low-light conditions! Seriously though, it came from the factory this way and I don't have another one to compare it with. I am working on changing that as we speak!

Cowboy, either way that is a sweet 629. Mine has a good bit of weight to it, recoil is not bad at all. It has more of a push to it than lift. If yours shoots like mine, I am sure it is a pleasure to shoot.

Jeremy, I had Magnaport do the 4 port job (rifle style) on my 8&3/8 mod 29 & it made a large difference with 320gr loads in the 1340fps range. I'd do it again in a heart beat.

Thanks Vance! I have been seriously considering it. I forgot about the MagnaPort until I saw Cowboy Boogies 629. Its still not even a big kick but with the ports, I bet it would be even better shootn!!

That was done with a laser machine. I have had quite a few pieces done and love them all. I had this running buck on my 1886 Winchester:

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I had heard that the guy that did the work went out of business. I checked his website and he is gone. Donlt know of anyone else that does this work. However, if you go to sassnet.com and check there site for a link. These guys are usually at major SASS shoots and my have a link. Good luck.
