OK. I used my Freedom Arms 500WE using 440gr cast bullets ahead of 31.0gr H110. The piggy was shot at 32 yards. I used a high shoulder shot and the boar dropped in his tracks. I recovered the bullet in the offside shield. The recovered bullet weighed 417gr and measured .837 across. The boar weighed 750lbs and had tusked that measured right at 5" outside the gumline.

Very nice, you gonna have a shoulder mount done? I got one about the same size on my wall and although my wife hates it, it does make for interesting conversation, especially when bunny huggers come to the door.

Thats EASILY one of the most amazing hogs Ive EVER seen shot, rifle or handgun, thats a real one in lifetime size trophy.

So were you spot-n-stalking or calling him in or what?

Giant! Giant! 750 pounds!! Congrats my friend!! A true trophy of a life time. I would be happy to tag a 400 pounder before I die, that is just a rare incredible beast. Should be some kind of record.

need to get the tusks out and measure them, if the total is more than 15" it will qualify for SCI but it costs to get it in the book. I think I said before that mine was 21" but I found the score sheet and mine was 17" because of a broken tusk but the scorer figured he would have been 20-21" if he hadn't broken off and gasixgunners is in the same class pig should be in the same class.

That is a huge wild hog! Did you shoot him on a preserve? Ive never seen a free range hog get that big. Ive seen some that had access to livestock feed get up around 350-400, but a piney woods rooter would haveeat 24-7 to bulk up like that. Congrats on a fine trophy.
