Recently, I won a NIB Ruger Single Six in 17HMR off of an auction site for $300.00. The little blaster is blued and comes with a 6.5" barrel. Eventually, I am thinking that I may scope it and have already decided on a Weigand scope rail and rings but I am researching scopes to mount on that setup.
I saw a listing on-line for a Weaver 2x28 Handgun scope in gloss black for $99. But, when I did a little more research I found out that Weaver lists the eye relief at 4.29". Is that the minimal eye relief? I need approximately 18-20" as I have pretty long arms.
I think I will shoot the Ruger first to see if I even want to scope it...I may change my mind.

I have looked at the Weaver handgun scopes. They are claer and bright. I think a good deal for the money. I have no field experience with them as far as durability, but it should hold up good on the little Ruger.
Eye relife was about right for a handgun scope at arms lenght, so I'm not sure what the 4.29" figure is??

It's 4" to 29" not 4.29 inches.

I have a pair of fixed power Weavers...a 2X and 4X. They are mounted on twin RSBH Hunters...one .44 and one .45LC. With hundreds of rounds of HEAVY cast bullet loads neither scope has moved zero.
I love them!!

The Weavers have great glass and are nice and compact with forgiving eye relief. I put them right up there with the Leupies and Burris', if not above ;-) With that .17 you may want to check in to a little more magnification that 2x tho.
Rod, too.

It's 4" to 29" not 4.29 inches. That makes more sense...I don't know why they list is the way they do then...Makes one feel a little dumb...You would think they would list is a 4 - 29" and not 4.29...Oh well, thanks for the answer... s4s4u...You may be right...I might want more magnification for the 17...I don't want a fixed 4x though...Maybe some more shopping around is a good thing...I'm in no hurry.

Thkat is such an accurate round I think a little more magnification would be a good thing as well. They can reach out there pretty good for a little rimfire.
