well I made the mistake of wandering into the wrong gun shop in Anchorage when I went to pick up my folks at the airport. Walked out with a new to me New Model Blackhawk in 41 mag. It started life with a 7.5" barrel but was cut by a local shop of good repute (Wild west Guns) to 4.75", acttion redone, barrel ported, Pachmyers installed, & since the gun needed refinished at the time it was also parkerized. I don't usually name guns, but the 1st thing I thought of with this one was "Pitbull" or "Warthog". Since Charter Arms used "Pit Bull" I guess it will be the "Warthog". It fits. Tried it with some 265gr hardcast a local shop loads to about 1200 in that barrel length & it was unbelievably pleasent to shoot :). Busted clay birds as fast as I could thumb the hammer at 15 yds (thinking brown bear defense) ;). I'll try & get pics soon. Now just need to sell a few other guns to get finances back on track (for this AND some other stuff). My 450 Marlin Encore pistol, a Contender with a Leupold 2x & 10" octagon 357 & 22 Hornet barrels, & maybe even my 10mm Witness pistol will all be on the block.

Gotta love them 41's. Only problem is Para has a little .45 auto called the Warthog ;-)
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Shucks... Forgot all about the Para. I like them too.... Razorback is a Dan Wesson auto loader I think.....
Man, the Warthog or pitbull are the only things that really seem to fit. You can tell me what you think when I post a pic.
Tigger,I'll get you a PM out soon. It's blue & I'll make him what I think is a pretty good deal. It's got a 2-6 Bushy Trophy almost as new with Warne ringe, a really nice soft case that will hold 2 additional barrels, etc.

I think it's going to be tough to "name" you pistol anything cool. The 1911 crazy has gone nuts the last 5-6 years and everybody wants to name them something. What ever happened to model numbers?? LOL<LOL<LOL Yes Dan Wesson has a 1911 called the Razorback. It a 10mm 1911. OK Vance I'll look for a PM. Thanks

Congrats on the 41 Vance. I can't wait to see pics. Wild West Guns is definitely a company of "good repute". Everytime I see one of their custom Marlin lever actions, I try to figure how to fit one in the budget.....very nice guns. I think you'll enjoy the 41 alot; my 7.5" bisley is quickly becoming my favorite. Don't tell my 44s. Super accuracy and very pleasant recoil. It should make a great trail gun for you.
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.
