I am considering having 44 mag barrel rechambered to 44x356 win. Going to use 14 inch armour alloy barrel. Was wondering if anyone has experience with Bellm or this caliber? Big 44 fan and not afraid of recoil so any comment or suggestions welcome.

Enjoy life but, remember we are only practicing for something better.

If it were mine I'd just go with the 444 Marlin and avoid the case forming and have the option of firing factory ammo if wanted. Had one ( 444 )in an SSK barrel and it performed very well. That barrel would shoot cloverleaves at 50 yds if I did my part. Never did chronograph anything thru it but have seen data where they were pushing a 300 grn bullet at 2,000 fps.

I had Bellm rechamber a 30-30 to 308 Bellm. The work was excellent, thing shoots awsome, and I couldn't be happier.

All the same, I suggest you have it braked ;-)

Rod, too.

Even with the break I have on my 45-70 it is a handful. I will eventually get another one but it will be a custom with an intricate break!

I agree, if you are getting all you can out of it, it will still command your attention. I am loading mine a good bit less than max, 1500 fps with a 300. Plenty good 'nuff for any critter around here, but surprisingly pleasant to shoot. It still commands a great deal of attention at the range none the less ;-)
