Does any one have this scope or has anyone used it? I was thinking of putting one on my Single Six Hunter and my Contender Mach II barrel.

MI, My S&W 657 in .41 mag carries a Simmons 2-6X. This set-up was used to take a boar and Corsican ram with good results. JFS

i have one on my 22lr ruger mk3 hunter. i think it is great for a rimfire. the crosshair is fairly thin for pinpoint target aiming. on the deer guns, i think i prefer the bushnell trophy 2x6 for a few bucks more.

I had a 2X on a 45 colt and smoked it after about 500 rounds. I held zero but it looked like someone spilled pepper in it. I would say it will be fine for a 22
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I have a 2.5-7 that has been on a 7-30 Waters, 243 Win, and 22-250. I can say it has been a great scope. I think Gary was very enlightening when he said that the 500 round mark was the make or break point. Mine I well beyond that and it is going strong.

How's the eye relief on the Simmons? This scope is also one that I am considering for my Ruger Single Six in 17HMR...

I just picked up a 2-6 Simmons and find the eye relief perfect for my 5'-9" arm length, at least on a reciever mount like T/C. I have a 4x fixed Simmons on my Bisley Hunter .41 which is a barrel mount, like the S-Six 17, and is also right on. I never tried the variable on the Bisley Hunter as it is too long to fit between the sights, but as I hold it to where it would be it looks like you may have to move a little closer on 6x but on 2x you can stretch out there. Unless you have Kevin McHale arms ;-)
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I have a 4x Simmons on my SBH Hunter .44 and it's just right. I only have about 80 round shot with it on the hunter so I don't know how long it will last. So Far So Good!
