HI sorry I have been gone--work. I would like to thank everyone for there kind replies. My question is about 180 grain loads for my ruger. Buffalo bore gets there's up to 1500 feet but they cost 40 bucks. Only older reloading data, that i find, gives this kind of energy from the 357. I am using a stainless blackhwack and was wandering if this level could be reached with out paying buffalo bore. I ask because I am planning a hawg/deer hunt in tennese and would like to use the ruger. Any suggestions.

with the 357 your going to want to stay with a premium quality bullet in cast or jacketed so the cost is going to a little high but you might check out the Oregon Trail Trushots, Beartooth or one of the other makers of hard cast bullets and you might save a few bucks. I shoot Cast Performance and Trueshots and they seem to be about equal in quality but personally if it were me I prefer the Nosler Partition in 180gr in the 357.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist

Penn Bullets makes an awesome slug for the 357. It is 180 grains, hardcast and shoots great from my Model 27 with an 8 3/8" tube. Dan Bowers wrote an article that dealt with the Penn bullets. I looked in the rticles but could not find it. Maybe he can help out with the article.

Beartooth bullets has a 185 grain wide flat nose. Check out their reloading data and they have a couple loads at 1400 fps. I plan on using this in my accusport bisley -- after I get a deer with my 30 herrett and my 44 accusport bisley and my 44 super redhawk.

Thanks Harretman, Rick, and Wapitirod, for your help. 1400 or 1200 feet i don't care as much as long as the bullets are good. Hope you had a good July 4.

Also try Leadheads. 'proshootpro.com' I have been using their 168 gr Keith. Depending on powders you can get in the 1200 fps - 1350 fps with those. I haven't taken anything with this particular bullet yet. But with their 250 keith in .44 mag = 1 deer, 2 hogs, 1 javelina. They leave perfect round holes on paper, so hits are easier to see at the range. Just my 2cents
