I got back to Georgia on the 14th. Since i've been home i have picked up a couple of new handguns. The first is 6 1/2" BlackHawk in 30 carbine. It shoots nice but man is it loud. It has acounted for several Armadillios already. The second one is a Ruger MK III hunter. The third is a Super Red Hawk i picked up the other day. Its a 9 1/2" in 480 Ruger. Now my Ruger collection covers 22,30,41,44 and 475. I need a 357, 45 and a 454 now. I'm pretty sure i can cover any game animal now. But i just cant leave those gaps. I haven't had the chance to fire the 480 yet. But tommorow starts a 4 day weekend for me.

Welcome home! I have a 30 carbine Ruger revolver, yeah LOUD!! I also need a 357 and a 454. I Would like the 9.5" barreled SRH to go with the other 2. Ruger does not offer the 9.5" any more so I guess I had better start looking around for one. I'm not sure what 357 to get, a GP 100 would be nice but I'm leaning towards a Dan Wesson.

Thanks fellas'. I have been enjoying myself. Mostly using heavy artilery to remove Armadillios from the garden. They realy played hell while was gone. I couldn't help myself. I dropped the hammer on one using Hornady 400gr XTPs at 1100fps. I need something bigger. That little bugger managed to flop about 10 feet. How can i be expected to kill a Deer with such under powered equipment? Any one know where i can pick up a 105 for cheap? I realy was suprised that he didn't go flop bang. Ofcourse he wasn't hard enough to cause expansion so there you go. He just had a 475 diameter hole pocked in him. The 110gr HPs out of the 30 carbine are devistating though. 210gr XTPs out of my 41 work real well too. Thanks for thanking us for going. But you don't need too, its what we do. I'd whole lot rather its me now, than my son in 10 years.

Welcome home and thank you for your service. Glad you are starting to reduce the number of vermin in your garden and yard. People who hae never experienced twisting and ankle while walking in a yard that was orked over by an armadillo do not know what they are missing. I made a habit of exterminating every one I could when I lived down South.
Enjoy the new toys and the time with your family catching up for lost time.

Once again, thanks. I got a chance to shoot my 480 today. No where near as bad as i was expecting. Now, i was using the Hornady 325gr. Factory claim is 1350fps out of a 7 1/2" tube. Gun Blast.com said the averaged about 1330 +/- a few fps. I have the 9 1/2". Very managable recoil. Actualy i think my 45/8 SBH with 320gr cast has more muzzle flip. I even shot single handed and managed to hit my target at 25.
